I am so excited that next month will be the launch of Filled Up Cup events. I really want to create an experience where everyone can listen to an episode of the podcast and potentially get to use the techniques in a hands on way in real life. For anyone who follows me on social media, you know that I have a monthly membership that I pay for at Luna Float in Chilliwack, BC. I find that floating in a sensory deprivation tank helps me with my chronic back pain and improves my sleep. I am really excited to share the experience with you on July 29th. I recommend dressing comfy/casual. Each activity of this event is done alone, so if your someone who feels like they need a +1 when trying something new, it won’t be necessary this time. Tickets can be purchased here but if you want to purchase via e-transfer please email. Tickets are not confirmed until paid in full. All tickets will be a final sale but can be transferred to someone else if unable to attend. If interested in shopping during the event they carry salt lamps, candles, artwork, jewelry and more.

FLOATING

For anyone who has never been in a float tank before the tank is quite large, measuring 8ft long, 4.5ft wide, and about 6.5ft high.  Inside there is 11” of water enriched with 1100 pounds of pharmaceutical grade Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulphate). This creates a very dense solution that allows the body to float effortlessly and minimizes the forces of gravity delivering a feeling of weightlessness. The water is warmed and maintained to match your external body temperature so the sweet spot is when the air and water match and you can’t tell where your body ends and the water begins. Floating is done in the nude. Once inside the tank, you will have the option of floating in the dark, with a light on or with the light off and a colour changing orb that is similar to a night light. There is a halo that you can put your head over so that you are not subconsciously holding your head up. You can also have the door opened or closed but it can get a bit chillier with the door open. Every guest will get a one hour float.

Some of the benefits of floating:

  • Relieve stress and anxiety
  • Enhance athletic performance and shorten recovery time
  • Strengthen the immune system, alleviate pain, and speed healing
  • Reset your biological clock, overcome jetlag, improve sleep
  • Reduce blood pressure, pulse, heart rate and oxygen consumption
  • Deepen meditation and heighten self-awareness
  • Increase creativity and problem-solving ability
  • Help visualize to achieve your goals.

NEUROSPA

During a session: you sit comfortably and select an energizing or a more relaxing mode, then soft sensations captivates you from the first minutes and stimulate gently all part of your body… After a short time, the acoustic frequency neutralize resistance and communicates directly with the nervous system which gradually replaces tensions caused by stress. The comforting sensations fills your whole body, leaving you in a state of peaceful tranquility. It’s a revitalizing experience that helps you be centered in the moment and give you a continuous charged feeling during normal daily activity. Each guest will get a 15 minute session.

TAROT READING

Megan te Boekhorst will be doing a self-care reading for each guest. Tarot readings are a tool for reflection and self-discovery, clarity and understanding – they provide no guaranteed outcomes and the onus for conscious decision making lies with you. This and other tarot readings are not therapy nor are they a substitute for therapy. Megan’s readings are about exploring your sense of self on a deeper level — learn more about who you are — in order to strengthen your mental health. She also has a podcast called the Tarot Reflections podcast. Each guest will get a 15 minute reading.
