Summer is a great time to try new things. So whether you’re travelling, enjoying the sunshine, or spending time with friends and family, make sure you take care of yourself this sunny season. Here are 5 simple ways to take better care of yourself this Summer that are sure to make this Summer the best yet.

Get Some Sun

You need some sun in your life. Sure, you can get Vitamin D from food and supplements, but it’s not the same as getting a natural dose of sunlight. Sunlight has many health benefits: it’s good for your skin and mood, and even boosts energy levels!

There are several ways to make sure that you get enough exposure to sunlight this summer. First off, if possible try to spend at least 10 minutes a day outside—but no more than 30 direct minutes per day (more than that will increase your risk of sunburn) always enjoy the sun safely, dressing in light clothes with long sleeves etc… If it’s not possible for you to step outside during these hours, consider getting an artificial light therapy box or lamp (they’re also known as SAD lamps). Making sure that you let in as much natural light as possible in your home during the day can be a big boost for your mood as well. With all that light in the house, adding a few plants to cheer your place up is a natural next step.

Get Outside Of Your Comfort Zone

Get outside of your comfort zone. It is so easy to get stuck in a rut or routine, and it can be hard to break out of them. Try new things this summer! Try a new class at the gym, try out a new restaurant that you’ve never been to before, try a new hobby/sport you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t tried yet, try out a recipe that’s different than what you usually make, or even change up your makeup style or hair cut! This will help keep things exciting and allow for new experiences that may inspire other changes in your life.

Switch Up Your Skincare Routine

When it comes to skincare, you know how important it is to use products that actually work. But what if you don’t have the time or budget for a trip to the dermatologist or to get a professional facial from time to time? Here are 2 simple ways (outside of sunscreen ALWAYS) to take better care of your skin this summer:

  • Use a facial cleanser with salicylic acid. The acid in this cleanser will kill bacteria on your skin and help clear away dead cells. The salicylic acid also exfoliates, which means it removes dead skin cells and makes way for new ones!
  • Try a facial mask. A mask can be used once or twice a week depending on how much time you have during your week and what your skin might need. There are many good ones on the market but I like these simple ones for when I am in a rush.

Get To Bed Earlier

It’s no secret that sleep is important for a healthy lifestyle. It helps regulate hormones, reduce stress and anxiety, improve memory and creativity, increase energy levels, and even boost your immune system. A good night’s rest also plays an essential role in healthy weight management: Studies have shown that people who get less than six hours of sleep at night or who experience frequent interruptions during their sleep may be more likely to gain weight than those who get seven to nine hours per night.

So how can you start getting more shut-eye? First off, make sure you’re not keeping yourself up with electronics before bedtime—try putting them away at least an hour before hitting the hay so they won’t distract you from falling asleep. Then aim for around eight hours of slumber every night by going to bed earlier than usual for a couple weeks until your body gets used to it—and don’t forget what time zone you’re in! Finally—and this may be the most challenging part—avoid napping during the day if possible; otherwise it’ll throw off your body clock even further and prevent deep REM sleep from happening later on in the evening when it’s needed most

Go Makeup Free At Least Once A Week

It can be fun to see what you look like when you go makeup free for a day, but it’s also good for your skin. Makeup can clog pores and cause breakouts, especially for those of us with sensitive skin. Sometimes a Summer without the pressure of makeup can be a freeing experience for many of us.

By going makeup free every so often, you’ll start to get a sense of how much your face really needs in order to look good without any products on it. This can help you find the right products that work well with your skin type and style without making them feel too heavy or thick in texture

Be You And Do Whatever Makes You Happy!

When you’re taking care of yourself, there are a few things that are important to keep in mind. First off, let go of negative thoughts (easier said than done). Instead, focus on being positive and doing things that make you happy! And above all else setting boundaries and saying NO to things you don’t want to do or being around those who don’t bring you joy.

Another thing is to be kind to yourself. Try not to put too much pressure on yourself—it can be easy for the stress of life to pile up if we aren’t careful! Make sure that your self-care routine gives you enough time for relaxation and fun activities so that taking care of yourself doesn’t become overwhelming or stressful in itself!

This summer is yours! Maybe you can even add some of these suggestions to your summer bucket list. Whatever you choose, remember that self-care isn’t selfish; it’s a necessary part of being happy. It’s also important not to worry too much about what others might think because ultimately this is your life and no one else knows what’s right for you better than yourself! So go out there and enjoy yourself this season by loving who you are, taking care of your body with healthy habits, spending time outdoors in nature or doing activities that make you feel alive again after those long winter days cooped up indoors all day long. And don’t forget some sunscreen–you’re going to need it!
